I use power pro(30/6 green) for my float rod, and main line for my drift rod. As long as you keep an eye on it, the abrasion isn't too bad, just trim it, if it looks like it needs it. I have even used power pro(30/6) green for leaders for fall chinook. Fished right along side my friends using mono, and hookups were the same. I use mono leader in ultra clear, but in a pinch have used power pro and it has worked. I like the non stretch of a braid. For jigging kings, and halibut in the salt, braid kicks butt(no pun intended)
