I'll spend 200-400$ on a steelie or salmon setup but for trout i like the 20$ rod/reel combos that they have at any sporting good store. As long as they have a sensitive tip with just enough backbone, you are set. THey can handle almost anything the state buts in these lakes. 3wt fly rods are also a blast!
