I have found that the rubber bands move some over time, particularly when making long casts and if the rubber is not new. This can make it difficult to fish an "exact" depth which certainly makes the difference at times. I personally use a "nail knot" with a piece of any monofilament-heavier poundages are better. As long as I don't break it off on a snag, the stopper will last as long as the line, and never moves unless you want it to. Will warn ya that this knot can be a bit difficult to tie with cold hands. smile Be sure to leave a bit of length on the tag ends so that it will not slip through the bead. Happy Angling!
