Terminal fisheries do bring out the worst in "fishermen"! There are plenty of examples. My opinion is that we all need to get active (and not just on this bulletin board) try the WSC or TU or ???? There are many forums to get our message out! Our local Port Angeles TU chapter is working with the elementary schools to educate the future generation of fisherpeople, that is where I feel I can do the most good. Teaching how to properly release fish, ethics, river ettiqute, etc... Not to bash baitchuckers and gearheads, but I do see flyfishermen acting in a more acceptable manner. I fished the Qull 5 days, and out fished every non-flyfisherman on the river! The only people that even mentioned hooking in the mouth was other fly guys. I think that there are definite personality, ethics characteristics between fly and gear guys. Think about it. I am not bashing gear people, just calling it as I see it. So, spend a few hours a month working with your local organization and get something going!
