After tonites readin of several posts I'm seeing some good stuff so I'll continue. SkaGuy hit the nail on the head. I've found that making friends or acquaintenances with the local FW enforcement officers is a easy and satisfying way to put the hurt on those unsportsman who ruin our days in legal & ethical pursuit of fish & game. They will try to the very best of their ability and resources to respond to your reports. Collect info like descriptions, boat #s and vehicle #s. Evert bit helps. Shoot I was personally good for about $4000 dollars in busts several years ago....at least I had the satisfaction of knowing I personally hurt these poachers!

As for the Oregon system I don't know...in Washington the officers spend a good portion of their time educating the public on a huge amount of conservation issues whereas in Oregon my understanding it's just like being on the Highway...you speed you get a ticket. Not making any judgements. I do know that locally on the Quil our enforcement has written around a hundred tickets in less than 30 days using one to three officers per day. Most of these are for snagging which is $500. There has been one apparently for $13,500

! Has it had an effect? Hard to tell...not seein as much snaggin and it looks like a small group of regulars is still at it. Along with an influx of nonlocal urban cowboy types who don't know a skanky dog from a silver. Antway for those who are tryin don't give up.
For the others what's your preference of cheese...hopefully Velveeta as I may just corner the market :p.
