I'm kind of wondering the same thing as Herm. If I show up to a drift 10 minutes after someone else, and they are standing at the head of the drift, you're crazy if you think I'm going to wait 30-40 minutes for them to finish fishing that portion and move down. If it's just the two of us I'll divide the drift in half and start fishing below them. If there's another hole below there, I'll give them the whole drift and move down. Is that "low holing" or being considerate?

If I'm in my boat working a stretch and some guy shows up on the bank below me and starts fishing, should I be upset that he's "low holing" me? Heck no! I've got the whole river to fish. This guy had to walk in and he's got very limited areas to fish from. I remember what it was like before I had a boat.

However, when a boat sees me coming down then pulls up and races to the next hole before me, that's a different story.
