Saturday AM a string of events led to no mas pink mini hoochies to fish pinks with, so it was time to get creative. A few weeks back in the beginning of August I nailed my first Humpy of the year on a 4" glo squid with a green stripe and herring strip. So I rigged this up:

...and I am glad I did. Ever since this setup has caught pinks 4-1 over the standard pink squid and hotspot, fished at the same depths.

It is a challenger 2.5" squid green splatterback with a 3/0 red flourescent octopus gammy, and it's a humpy killa. This goes aginst the grain of what everyone tells you will catch pinks. It does have a dash of pink, but by far not the predominant color.

So, to add to this thread, tell us what you have found catches fish that wouldnt normally be considered a method to catch a particular species.

Thats why they call it fishing I guess!
