Frankly I find it hard to believe that seals (as opposed to sea lions) do much to affect the salmon population. Sea lions are another story and in some cases reducing numbers is probably the way to go.

I can't help but scoff, though, at the number of people that seem all too eager to decimate a species because it's dietary habits compete with our recreational pursuits. As if our other attempts to manage ecosystems to our recreational advantage have been so successful.
