Generally I agree with most of what you've stated except for the blame on the hatcheries. What you seem to have omitted is that once the population expands they do'nt care one iota if the food source has an intact adipose fin, as demonstrated by herschiel and his buddies at Ballard.

It's no fun losing a fish to a seal or sealion but hey, thats the way it goes. I'd just as soon not see a harvest on them. I'd rather see a natural increase in the predators that feed on them!
