I was fishing for Pinks two years ago hooking and releasing a ton and as one fish was thrashing around it manged to get the hook under my fingernail. That stung a bit, but it didn't get stuck so I didn't think too much about it.

That was until two nights later when I woke up to an excrutiating throbbing pain in my finger. The next evening I was in the emergency room on IV antibiotics, as the infection had shot up past my elbow, and the doctors thought blood poisoning was starting to set in.
