I was told by the guy that sold me my kicker that the thieves always have bolt cutters. They never take the time to disconnect anything but the fuel line. So a cable or chain type lock is useless. Also, if the motor is security-bolted onto the bracket, they usually disconnect the bracket. Just make sure you have good insurance...
