My standard Johns River set up is this:

Golf tee on my main line to intercept weeds; Sampo BB swivel next; Delta Diver next; 12" of 50# leader next to Fish Flash (usually red in the shallow water of Grays Harbor and Chehalis River); then 3' of 40# P-Line Fluoroclear leader to a 6 bead -bead chain swivel; 4' of same leader to two 6/0 Gamakatsu hooks tied for large plug cut herring. The whole mess is about 8.5' long with my 9' rod. Sometimes use a 10.5' rod.

On a nice day the Scottish Plaid Fish Flash is pretty cool.
