Nice setup Grandpa, but I think the place to have your BB swivel is between the diver and the FishFlash..... the FF is spinning and the diver is not.

I would also caution folks about the use of bead chains rigged in direct line, unless you are absolutely sure of the source and pound test rating on your bead chains. They are notoriously inconsistent in quality and have been known to fail commonly. I once had one break while fighting a silver using only 12# test mainline! A standard barrel swivel is generally of more consistent quality. Better yet, go with another BB swivel between the FF and the herring... they spin a lot more freely than a std barrel swivel or bead chain.

Remember a herring rotates a lot faster than the FF and is the primary source of line twist when trolling for salmon. I've had more than one occasion where I reeled in all my goods where everything behind the FF was just a tangled wad of mono, hooks, and strangulated herring.

The last season saw a new generation of FF's rigged standard with a pair of high quality BB swivels fore and aft, instead of the usual bead chains. If you have a choice, reach for the ones with the BB swivels.
