"Venus" was shocking Blue's big hit. Much controvesery when it first came out as Venus sounded alot like penis in the tune.
The internet has helped obscure bands get some recognition as the industry giants are so intent on shoving the bands into genres for marketing purposes and some bands with a unigue sound have trouble because they don't fit the pigeon holes. It's really stiffled the creative process for musicians and the listener.
Of course, the software to process the sound of the borderline singer (think Ashley Simpson) to make them sound ok and the other software available to mix down the music has lent to the "genericification" of music.
I still play vinyl at home and buy it at some stores in Seattle andf elsewhere. I'm one of those old codgers you see at Value Village rooting thru all the crates of Montovani and Lawrence Welk to find the gems like a Sun Records Johnny Cash compilation I found a couple weeks ago.
