This maybe my first post in two years...

Music boils down to a personal preference. You either love it or hate! I listen to everything from rap to metal. At 42-years old I have a preference to bands like Slayer, Arch Enemy, Pantera, etc... It's intense and the sound is overwhelming (that's just me)! I also like older country- Hank WIlliams, George Jones, etc.. Yet I won't listen to mainstream country (The "Wolf"). I listen to Nickelback yet won't buy their CD.. If there's a girl next in the passenger's seat... let it rock- they love Nickelback. Most of their stuff is fairly "catchy" anyyways. I listen to rap because I think it's funny... yet absolutely stupid and I would never consider buying a CD. 70's/80's rock- most defintiely! If you can remember Black Sabbath on AM- props! NMot don;t realize Sabbath was a blues band (Earth) before they hit it big in "dark metal."

Another perspective... If you loved Foghat, you loved blues. If you listened Don McClean- you loved folk. Get my drift?

Personally every band has "it's" talent. It boils down to who's listening to it and what is popular at the tme. Just because they don''t hit the airwaves doesn't mean they suck...
