-weight of the spinner is plenty good enough

-no leader necessary...swivel on the spinner is dandy.

Both...but I prefer the hootchie spinner in somewhat open water so I can get a nice wide and slow sweep with the lure...snappin' jigs or tossing plugs are what I prefer for the loggy zones.

1BK, for spoon weights, it depends on what you are using them for, and how deep/fast the water is...all of the weights work just fine for what they are suited to...faster/deeper the water, the heavier the lure and/or the slower you have to fish it.
