Its the action that really matters. Gary Loomis builds an extra fast with a light tip. The HSR. Best plug pullin rod ever IMO. I hate flimsy rods like the glass rods for pulling plugs.

Plug rods should lay almost flat when being fished. The extra fast action is for when the fish hits. It makes him instantaniously turn from the pressure and set that hook hard in the corner. It also stay put and dosent fold over changing the plugs wiggle speed like a flimsy glass rod.

The super light tip transmits the plugs action to the rod and aslo keeps the plug dancing without massive pullback.

Funny how one manufacturer thinks the glass flimsy rods are the way to go. Personally Ill take my 981's and 2' s over any plug rod made. I like em in GL3. Super light, super senative and serious backbone power for slowing them down.

To each his own, but plug rods should be extra fast with a light tip. If thats what lamey is doing with there glass plug rod sounds great. But with as many Lamey's that Ive seen and broke, I wouldent...

If there flimsy, might as well go with old yellar! The ealge claw kind. Saves ya some money for the same thing.
