Yeah, I think you're right about the timing of it...it's too late to get someone else in there, and the only hope the Repubs have of keeping the seat is getting him elected, and then he either wins his appeal (very unlikely), or gets tossed on his ear by his fellow Senators (very likely) and Alaska holds a special election and probably just installs another one just like him...mebbe Palin will run for the Senate seat?

Sheesh...as if Alaska isn't a laughing stock this fall already...
