Hard rain can mess up a pour, but the contractor has ways of dealing with some of it. Canceling is the last resort. My framers started on the house the first of Nov, just as it started to pour. It rained pretty hard most of 4 of the 5 weeks it took to frame up to roof sheeting. Roofers got it shingled just before the Dec. snow. Pissed me off to have all that lumber get wet, but it's almost all dried out now. 7 week delay last summer due to 2 errors by the country building inspector. Also cost me $750 for a geotechnical engineer that I shouldn't have needed, but losing prime construction season was the worst part.
