question i want to go get tuna off the docks at westport this year. i am wondering how do you know when they are in and i heard the mid season price is the best? i was trying to get down there last year but was unable to locate when boats were comming and going and didnt want to make the haul to come home empty handed.

for us luck has been on our side for fish in the freezer. but tuna i would like to get to bbq and can and can't swing 500$ to go try for them.

Don't know about up there, but down here, check out the commercial docks, and there are signs directing you to which boat, and what price.

Mid season is best, and if its a good year (again, down here...) you shouldn't pay more than $.75/lb, whole fish.

BUT...an even better bet is to head to where we rec. guys clean fish. If a boat comes in plugged, you can usually help them with stuff in exchange for a few fish. I give away WAAAY more than I come home with to people who help out.
