The Kitsumkalum (Kalum) River grows some mighty special chinook.... a BIG race of giant kings comparable to the Kenai's.

Adults (anything over 65 cm... roughly 25.5 inches) in the early component of the run are protected thru June 30. Been that way for at least 10 years. This is very similar to the Kenai River ER slot limit only MUCH more restrictive.... basically only jacks may be retained.

They have a 37-day season on adults.... one per day.... from July 1 thru Aug 6. The fish get a free pass from Aug 7 forward.
