Pop Gear and Powerbait worms have done well for me this season. Early on, I troll flies with my buddy Mr. Vedder, but since I enjoy fresh fried or smoked trout more than he does, I switch to Pop Gear if it is slow.

My grandkids love fishing and that is my choice of gear when I am with them.

Use a sliding sinker rig above the pop gear, which has a keel on it, and a one ounce weight. Depending on the depth and weed bed level, you can determine the right depth. Traditionally the later in the season you go, the deeper you fish as summer progresses, but that can depend on the lake.

Hope that helps.
