looking at all the different orange and red rockfish species, i'm glad that i fish shallow water and only have to deal with a few species and not deal with any barotrauma.

the problem with rockfish ID amongst sport fishermen is that it is difficult for even experienced fishermen. even tougher for the multitude of anglers who have never seen most of those species of rockfish but head out halibut fishing.

gonna be tough to educate the masses on rockfish ID. worthwhile but tough considering the number of sportfishermen that keep chinook during pink seasons.
