I have a half dozen Fenglas rods I took as partial payment from Fenwick for photographing Jimmy Green fly casting for the cover of their catalog. I think it was 1982, but don't remember for sure.

My oldest Fenwick blank is a fly rod made by the owner of a sports shop in Kirkland in 1965.

A few years ago I had two of my 6-1/2 foot rods cut into four pieces and fitted with metal ferrals at Greggs in Lake Stevens for travel rods that fit in a carry-on suitcase. I use them frequently on trips to Alaska and Canada and have jigged up a lot of silvers with the casting rod and one of my 5000 D's. The other is a spinning rod for tossing spinners.

I had a four piece Fenwick pack rod that I used for over 25 years before I lost the tip section on a trip to Lake Huron. I put a new tip on the rod which was about four feet long after loosing the tip section and fished it for a few more years before retiring it.
