Yeah - raising the minimum wage is not what the economy needs right now after the ACA and our current economic climate (tax structure). It would increase unemployment as small business owners and customers can't afford the piling on. Costs would be passed onto customers which would in turn reduce discretionary spending. It would be a disastrous vicious cycle and aid the race to the bottom. Maybe that's the goal for getting more government and handouts. It's a non-starter and will not pass Congress.
