I use a fixed rig, to single hooks 5/0 in front and a 6/0 black gammies. Plug cut, start on the short side and go up under the backbone and come out on the long side. This provides a tight spin.. Also cut and fish your bait frozen for the first 20 minutes without pulling the guts, once it thaws pull the guts and continue to fish. You will have less scale loss cutting a frozen bait, but be careful with them. We found that we were having more baits chewed during that first 20 while the baist were still semi-frozen... (TIGHT SPIN works the best by far for us)

GL3 HSR 981C, calcutta 400,,,, 60# spider-wire 35#Maxima leader, 6 foot leaders... I can go on and on.. this is by far my favorite method to fish for chinook.
