Everyone should read Salmon Without Rivers. Every piece of factual information is backed up by a source, hopefully reliably.

I learned an awful lot of historical information that I didn't know before. Once I started reading, I didn't stop until I was through.

The book stresses my favorite idea about salmon and steelhead recovery, and that is to first take personal responsibility for what you do to help and hurt the fish, then to educate, and lastly to point fingers, if ever at all.
