I have a dozen or so of those STX's. I have had one or two over the years which had the issue you're describing. One was outta the box, and I did a return. If I remember right, another one developed that problem after lotsa heavy salt water use. I sent it to da Brewer and he fixed it up for me. I forget which part broke, but it was a couple dollar issue. For the most part the STX's have been great to me,
