I've never been perceived as a threat whether armed with a pistol or a long rifle when being pulled over. A couple of times I've even had LE check out my rifles to make sure they were unloaded. Once was with my '66 Centennial 30-30. The cop spent 30 minutes checking it out and talking hunting. But then again I'm white!

It is not a cops job to go home safely!!!! It is a cops job to serve and protect. As long as they are putting their lives in front of citizens lives then we are going to have bad shoots putting even more cops lives in danger and making their ability to do their job that much harder.

Could you imaging a soldier being trained that his or her life is more important than the mission? Our military would be worthless as a force and that seems to be the path LE is going down.

I must say events in Dallas may actually bring this issue forward in a positive way just by how the protesters, the cops (especially that Chief) and first responders have reacted.

Broke a universal joint in the middle of the night somewhere around Roseburg on I-5.
OSP trooper pulled over to check me out.
Before it was over we were both out of the rigs, dry firing my Dan Wesson .357 with the new trigger job.

True story.
