The Chinook catch in the summer marked selective fisheries for MA 9 and MA 10 are developed using what is called the full Murthy design. Here is link to a short description of the method.

This is a well developed method that has been reviewed and accepted. It does not require that every angler (or boat launch) be monitored; an impossibility.
