Watching the first-run kings spawn in Slikok Creek on the edge of Soldotna is a popular pastime for both locals and visitors alike this time of year. Please note that we observed the bear below at the College Road culvert yesterday ... while I'm sure he's not going to hunt you down and make you a bear doughnut, for those that plan on partaking in this activity, be on the lookout and make plenty of noise along the creek so that you don't startle him as you move through the brush and high grass! Lots of kings in the creek right now, so enjoy the fish viewing and perhaps you'll even get a glimpse of the bear ... an unusual sight right in town!
