Plain borax,pro cure,pro cure wizzard,combination of both in a brine? Any other suggestions or brands. Thanks

Look in the tips section for good egg curing info. The new Wizzard and also the Pro-Glo cures are good OTC stock cures; best for salmon but also good for steelhead. Many good fishermen like to customize their cures a little with various additives. I'm very sure that BB members here Jerry S., Superfly, and Osprey would be glad to give you their favorites additives. And possibly even their favorite secret cures posted below? Stay tuned.

There are several different egg cures. Borax egg cures are still effective for catching steelhead. The old timers I fish with use nothing else. The recipe is 1 cup of borax mixed with 1 level teaspoon of non-iodized salt. Sometimes they'll use a heaping teaspoon of salt if they're curing big chinook eggs. Try the other cures also. I put the nitrite/sugar or procured eggs in borax to make them less gooey and easier to handle.
