i can under stand about the garbage and cars turning around in the drive way, but to just asume the dog was stolen is pretty bold to accuse somebody of, just my .02 worth, the dog was tied up for a reason and it doesn't sound like it was because it was mean, sounds like it sliped its colar and who knows what happened to him, maybe he decieded to go for a swim or just plain got lost, and there are lots of black dogs in trucks almost every where you go, i am a dog owner myself and would not wish this upon anybody, but get the facts befor you accuse

It sounds as though the Samish has turned into the skok and quil, it was never like that when I lived on the island and fished there.

You hit the nail on the head. It really doesn't matter if the dog was stolen or not. The attitude displayed by the anglers is deplorable. I say close the damn river down.

I fished the Samish today the 23rd, and talked to several people about the incident. One fellow who said he knew the owner of the dog had found out the dog was returned. I asked him if access was going to be still allowed. He didn't know about that.
There were several people picking up garbage along the river, including me. Me thinks this effort might be a bit late? I caught a pretty nice white king of about 25 lbs. As I was leaving I was just thinking to myself ,what a sad situation. I don't think people will ever learn about respect for other peoples property and or possessions.
I live on the Sky and I'm constantly going down the riverbank on my property picking up after others. Everyone pleeeaaase. pack it out!

A thing to understand about landowners. They don't see bad fishermen and good fishermen. They just see fishermen and their property getting trashed.
fishermen= property trashing. thats all they see.

I think if access is to be maintained in places like this it's gonna have to be the goodfishermen cleaning up after the bad fishermen( and other property users).
If the good fishermen don't do it then the landowners will close the access which they have every right to do.
right or wrong it won't matter, if you want access take a garbage bag and clean up after the garbage people. Oops there i go again making judgements about people based on their actions. your damn right I do.
