well today i was all over on the sky just to check things out and i stopped at the boat launch on the ben howard rd.the one that is 2 miles east of lewis st.in monroe and there was a bunch of garbage that someone just threw out in the parking lot,a couple big boxes worth.so i figured i would dig threw it a little and sure enough i happened to find some mail with there name, cell number and address on it. laugh so i went to the monroe police dept. to see if they could help in nailing this person but they couldn't do anything because it was out of their area he told me to call 911 and let the sheriff know about it so i did but they said that they couldn't do anything unless it was in progress.i was told to call the health dept. on monday and they would be able issue a citation.so i will be calling right away on monday, hopefully they end up with a nice big fine because i sure hate having to clean up after these slobs it seems like i am always cleaning up their sh%$ just the other day i picked up a couple big garbage bags full right by gold bar but i am sure in a few weeks it will be the same way again,i can't belive people can be such pigs like that.so hopefully when anybody else runs into a bunch of trash it will be from someone stupid enough to throw in some of their mail so we can start busting more of these slobs. mad

I happen to live about 6 miles from the BH boat launch. I will go take a digitial picture of it and send it along to you, if you wish. Send the picture along with the telephone number to all of the newsmedia and Snohomish County Public Works and the Dept Of Wildlife. Or maybe even post that information on this forum and it might just get to their neighbor or even them and then someone should be hearing from the proper authorities. Snohomish County Health if you can get them off of their asses may do something for you. They sure dont don anything about mold in houses and apartments. The offer is here for me to take and send you the picture just let me know. Or even mail it to the Evergreen District Court in Monroe, know one of the judges there fish.

I hate the slobs that dump garbage as much as anyone. I would urge caution though in posting a name. It could be an elderly person that paid her grandson to haul her trash to the dump. They dump the garbage along the road and pocket the innocent person's money. I am not defending the scum that do the littering! I had a deputies phone number just for littering situations at one time. I think Snohomish Co. will help out in such a situation. Bill

Here's a suggestion......give the guy a call.....and let him know that you are going to deliver all his garbage to the police station if it is not gone in 24 hours.....It may not end up in the dump, but it just may, in as much as you know who did it.....Good Luck beer

This happens all too often out where I live in rural Pierce Co. I certainly can understand why folks don't want to take their crap to the dump- a minimum of $20, lines and the drive to get there. This is an acceptable excuse? Not in my book! Unfortunately for the offenders, we have a great Neighborhood Watch Program in effect! There is also a watch dog group (forget which department they operate under), but they do random "drive by's" of the neighborhoods and catch a lot of people.

I say hang 'em high... or give 'em community service...

i called the health dept. today and they said that there's not much that could be done about this other than sending a crew out to pick it up,that could take up to 2 weeks and the taxpayers would have to flip the bill for it.the guy i talked to said it was probably a transient which i don't understand because her sears charge account statement was there and her cell number, address, come on now what more do you need to bust these people there is even a no littering sign right there on a tree 20 feet away, unless he was meaning a transient was digging thru peoples garbage and brought it there, but i didn't have much time to talk to him i was on break at work so i had to cut it short, they have my number and said they would call if anything came of it but i am not holding my breath.so now what to do?i hate to see them get away with this,i was thinking if someone that lives close by has to do some garbage hauling i have an address that is taking all that you can haul day or night just let me know and i will give it to you.i will try to call the health dept. again tomorrow if i have time and see if anyone else might be able to do something. mad

Makes you want to just return it to the rightful owner! Maybe drop it all off on the front steps....with a note saying you found the items and thought they should be returned....

Have you trie to contact WDFW at the Mill Creek office. It is a WDFW launch and the enforcement officers may be willing to do something. The phone # at the office is (425) 775-1311. Asked for either the local sergeant or the regional captain. If they can't help with this one (a call earlier may have helped) they should be able to tell you the best way to deal with that situation in the future.

Good luck and thanks for caring!

Living out on the east side in rural king County. I see this weekly they stop along a dark road and just dump it next to the road. I quess they think I dont live out here I dont care. Having grown up around here I cant tell you 25 years ago you could drive up any logging road or trail no problems they were all open for the most part. Even back then you would see where people would dump their garbage. Over the past 25 years they have slowly closed off all these areas and they are now gated so no one can access this land. Most of the big timber companies have now gated all their land. They are now charging money to access this land . Why well partly because of this abuse. You have to drive way up to the mountains anymore to access any of the logging roads. Pretty soon the only thing that will be open is goverment land. What is the solution I dont know. I have to believe that it is a money issue. I cant see any other reason why someone would dump their garbage in the middle of nowhere.
