There still here and lots of them bought new jig this morning spent maybe ten min. jigging have three more dozen but up, these were on the small side older gentlemen jigging on float 8 had larger ones he had the time to be picky why do I have to work now. they are a little shy of the jig they hit the jig but dont stick very well a'm I using the wrong jig? the schools are thick and just sit there and swim in front of you my bosses son caught a small sea bass, a sea smelt and perch along with herring. That was fun. I think I ended up with about 3 dozen blue to purple lable size. They are frozen now and I'll vacuum-pack them this evening. I hear the secret is to thaw them in brine. Since I troll mine whole, I'm hoping they will hold up well. This fall, I can use Grays Harbor herring to fish John's River - maybe give me an edge!

I watched a few of the halibut charter boats return with limits of yellowtale rockfish and halibut yesterday. The largest I saw was 57#.

Went down Yesterday on my day off and recieved 2 dozen for my efforts. Sealions are chasing schools around I suspect they are there for the halibut carcasses. Two families with kids It's sure nice to see smiles on there faces. Good to meet you SlabQuest stop in next time and I'll but lunch again.

Any new reports on herring? I am going fishing and crabing on sat out by the Jetty (in boat). Is it best just to jig off the docks?

Been jiging off the docks only, no big herring the past two days. There are tons of 3-5 inch fish under floats 6 and 8 too small for bait maybe rock fish? Tese will take silver hooked jig but not gold.
