Any word on recent activity at Edmonds or Seattle? Heading out tonight and was curious how long of a night it would be at Edmonds.

Peopleare doing very well over in the Kitsap region . We have been getting orders froom Brownsville, Keyport, and Port Orchard on a regular bases! The tides are also good the next few days. Let us know how you do!

Happy Squid Fishing!

I've been going to Des Moines Peir and it's been pretty slow.

Is that the Fir in your avatar. I used to know a couple of guys on that tender.

I went to Pier 86 in Seattle two weeks ago. Very slow. Saw about 12 caught in about 3 hours between 9:30 and 12:30. Actually got my license checked by game warden. Is that common while squidding? I have never been checked while steelheading.

Brant,

When the squid fishing is decent enough that some crowds are showing, the gamies will stop by there a couple times per week...and usually hand out several tickets.

With the reduced field force and limited resources they try to hit places where there will be a concentration of anglers so they can check as many people as possible in a short time.

Fish on...

Todd

I haven't even been out once this year...the reports have always been too dismal to get me out there in the middle of the night freezing my ass off to catch a few squid, especially when I have two shelves in my freezer stacked with vacuum sealed bags of 'em still!

Fish on...

I like to head out around sunset. I'm usually done in a couple hours. Tides can help. I think most of the people out squid fishing are not on these boards. Now is a realy good time to go. Kitsap has been good!

FYI everyone, the Blackmouth are really hitting hoochie's right now in area 10. Especially the Ace High fly, that thing is hot. Wonder if theres a correlation between that and the local squid??

I was out at ross point there in port orchard just after dark early in oct. or late sept. and saw a couple guys with some sort of beach sein net fine mesh and several hundred pounds of smelt , thought it was kind of wierd what with having all or most of my silver fishing being scooped out from under me by the tribe. kind of frustrating.
