Those 50/50 spoons are great but for them being a bit on the pricey side, why aren't they assembled?

Those 50/50 spoons are great but for them being a bit on the pricey side, why aren't they assembled? They cost about 20% less than a comparable PenTac 50/50, and those don't only come "unassembled", but they don't even come with the hardware or hooks...just the blanks. Fish on... Todd

Just checked the websites...a ten pack of PenTac 2/5oz. 50/50's costs $47.94, and that's just for the blanks.
A ten pack of Rvrfshr 2/5oz. 50/50's costs $31.00, and that includes the blanks, duolocks, swivels, and hooks...
...at a savings of 35% over the PenTacs, and you get a lot more for your money.
Still seems like a pretty good deal to me.
Fish on...
Todd

RVRFSTR just needs a lighter & heavier spoon then what they carry. The middle ground is covered. A .25 and .66 FSTR would be awesome! Two things I do NOT subscribe too for either Pen-Tac or RVRFSTR is the Stupid Tax. 50/50 spoons and double stacking. Zog is laughing all the way to the bank.....

the hook broke right at the v bend. i fish a 11'6" 6-10 rod with 10lb main and 8lb leaders. not a chance in hell im putting that much pressure on the fish.
i do clamp my jigs right there, but it has never ever been a problem before. it has only been this pack of jig hooks i have broke.
i did hook 3 fish today without a single problem.
i personally love the hooks, and dont loose many fish when running them. and i can say that the breakage issue wont turn me away from the product. as i have had great success with them.
I would say it is the clamping in the vise that is the problem.

Zog is laughing all the way to the bank..... I highly doubt that . I KNOW he never made a penny on the BC Steel. In fact, he had to pay for spoons when he wanted them. I dont know what his deal is with Pen Tac but doubt he is "laughing all the way to the bank!"

There have been some manufacturing defects in some batches of hooks in the past, but there have never been any problems with the jighooks, and there are thousands of those out there in the field...overclamping in the vise would seem to be the culprit, but we'll replace the broken ones for you and next time you have the vise out, try and clamp them lightly...see if that makes the difference.
Fish on...

Rvrfshr is a big man to step up and offer that type of guarantee. I have not had any hook breakage on any of the gear I have used. Their company is great and hes been a great source of knowledge when I was fishing learning how to correctly fish spinners and spoons. They will always have my business.

Todd and there is where the problem is. usually i would chalk it up to clamping the hooks to tightly.....but i float fish jigs 90% of the time and have never once had this problem with a rvr fshr jig. they were brandnew as of wednesday last week. and i bought 3 packs of hooks. 2 packs of 1/16th and 1 pack of 1/8th, and one pack of 1/8th jigs in october which i tied up all for chum fishing (no broken jigs there, and thats alot of fish catchin going on). the broken jigs were all from the 1/8th pack. i have tied around 300 jigs on rvr fshr jigs with this same vise. and never had a problem. most of my friends fish only my jigs aswell with out any problems over clamping is more then likely the problem..... the rvr fshr hooks dont hold very well in my vise, so i do have to use a little extra pressure. but ive been doing that for a couple years now again no need for a replacement. and i did not intend for this to be a "bash" rvr fshr thread. i love the products and my success rate has went up alot using thier products. i never leave home without my spoons, jigs and worms.

I have never had a RVFSHR hook break. But now I'm concerned so could you please send me replacments for all the hooks I have and perhaps a few spoons and spinners, cuz they might break too.

I never had a problem with their hooks. Good stuff/company. Always cool on the phone and the gear is in my mailbox a day or two later. No complaints. I would like to see them expand the spoon weights in the future.

Rivrfishr-just curious, I've looked in sportco a few times for your products and never have been able to find them. Why is it that your spoons and hooks aren't on the shelf there? Is there a retailer locally-Seattle area-that does shelve your products?
