It looks like I'll get a chance to head west in late December. If the Wynoochee is in shape, I'd like to float it again. Are there a lot of wild fish this time of year? I've got no problem running plugs and casting. I just want to know if it would be irresponsible to throw bait divers in the mix.

In December? Some wild coho, but the preponderance of steelhead will be hatchery origin.

Hatchery steelhead, but it will likely be puking whole trees and mud.

Wild fish......not many in December. Many guides use "bait divers", so if you like "divers".....go for it!!!!!

Bring $$$$$$$, enjoy your time here.

This bugs me ! If a guide is fishing on the "Nooch" and his clients park their vehicle at the boat launch don't they need a (permit/pass) to park there ? One would thing so but I have observed many without on my daily travels of the valley.

I agree.....and have ranted about it.....especially when all the parking areas are taken by dumb xhits who don't know how to park, in the 1st place.

BUT that said, if they have a fishing licence then they should have "a parking sticker". Now I'd like to see them ticketed IF THE PARKING STICKER is not showing......

Pretty dam witty for an old duffer.

I'm savin' that one for the Alaska board when they start bitchin' about crowding.
