But a facility much larger than this doesn't belong at the bottom end of Youngs Bay.

How far away was he? And no I'm not a wacko environmentalist just someone who can say no to a dollar if it involves putting 1000xs at risk.

There is finite coast line and nobody ever wants anything in their back yard. So what do we do? Stop civilization? Incidents are always going to happen, so you do the very best you can to mitigate and prevent. Yeah - I'm for the Excel pipeline. The Alaskan pipeline has done just fine. Why prevent growth, especially when this country needs it so desperately? Ever expanding human civilization HAS to go through somebody's back yard. It's just the way it is...

Do you know what a 2 mile evacuation would look like at Oregon LNG's site?

101 Bridge
Coast Guard AirBase
2 Schools and Most of Warrenton
Port Of Astoria

Sorry still haven't seen the Industry explain why we need this other than creating jobs in Canada?

How many jobs would it create by keeping it in the Lower 48 and keeping prices low and let manufacturing take off again. I've been to many meetings on this, I've testified at FERC and State hearings on the matter. Trust me I've heard the union reps speak but guess I've been around long enough now to remember.
Arab Oil Embargo
Exxon Valdez
2 Gulf Wars
911
BP Fiasco in the GoM
and countless other smaller incidents that just don't justify shipping it out of the biggest consumer nation in the world. At least not while were still importing to meet our own needs.

Not really since cars and trucks run just fine on NG, and the technology to convert NG to methanol has come a long way in the past couple of years too. When it comes down to nuts and bolts the industry just wants the world on one or two prices for NG. Works great for them with one product why not 2? You have to remember Oregon LNG started out as a import terminal and if you would have heard them talk if we didn't get it built granny was going to freeze to death. Now it's we have so much gas we need to ship it out...Also other words of wisdom out of CEO Peter Hansens mouth such as when asked about the runway pointed at the tanks they would just build them so strong planes would just bounce off them...
