Good luck on the rifle I’d put the nicest vortex optics on it I could afford and find what the gun likes to shoot best. Good ammo always makes a huge difference and good ammo will get harder to find unfortunately.
Love me some .223 shooting one of the rifles I learned to shoot with my dad. Good luck
