What I can't figure out is why people with multiple DUI's are allowed to continue to buy alcohol. Seems it would be easy to require drivers licenses or state ID to buy and then color or put a note on any id they have. Make it against the law for them to buy or be served.
I saw an older guy that was passed out at a light and got him to pull over. He kept saying, "It's ok, I will be alright tomorrow." I got the feeling something went wrong and he relapsed. He knew he was real drunk, but didn't know what to do. I told him that the police were on the way and that he should call someone or let me drive him home. He tried to call but got no answer, and refused to let me drive him home. We stood there for 15 minutes until a trooper final came and arrested him. She told me they had over twenty 911 calls on him and that she thought it was his 6th DUI. At any time he could have just walked back to his car and left. I actually felt sorry for him. If we believe it is a disease, why does the state help facilitate.
