With the advent of steel shot requirements for waterfowl, a lot of old guns are kind of out of commission now...Nick's Model 12 is a beautiful old gun, and there won't be any steel going down that original barrel. Thankfully with turkey and deer hunting it came out of retirement 8 years ago and is out there killing schit on the regular.

I have a 1966 Sears & Roebuck branded Winchester Model 1200 that is also a generic shoot'em all gun...it has killed deers and turkeys, and that one has put some steel thru it and shot ducks and geese, plus all kinds of upland stuff.

As nice and specific a lot of newer shotguns can be, it's hard to beat a 12 gauge pump from 50 or 60 or 80 years ago...but fuckodeer, they are heavy, and they didn't worry too much about saving your sorry shoulder from recoil back then lol.

Fish on...

Todd
