Yeah it was given away by Jimmy Carter, who after Biden was the 2nd worst president of my lifetime. Regan also disagreed with giving it away as do I. However, I didn't mention it because I live by two principles: 1) Don't harm anyone physically, their freedoms or their property and 2) Do what you say you are going to do. So under the 2nd principle since we have agreed to give it away, I would honor that. However it was given away with terms attached.

The reason why the Chinese control of these ports is a problem is because of the military significance. In a war with China over Taiwan we would want to transit the Panama Canal with our naval fleet and the Chinese ports at either end of the canal "might interfere" with that because the Panamanians don't have "full control." Both quoted terms here are in the treaty, so it's a violation. I expect that it will be fixed rather than repossessing the canal.

It aint gonna' be perfect, but I think it'll be better.

That's good advice but I'd push it further, if I agree with someone 50% of the time, I am your friend forever and will walk with you to the ends of the Earth as best buds forever. I only agree with Trump 66% of the time, the Libertarian party 80% of the time, the Republican party 50% of the time, the Green party 25% of the time, the Socialist party 25% of the time and the Democratic party 5% of the time.

Even though I disagree with 33% of what Trump says and does, I still have had a cardboard cutout of him along with a flag in the Trump shrine in my kitchen since his first presidency and it's still there. There is a pic of it in this very thread. I voted for him 3 times as well.
