Oh God, I really shouldn't post this, But I really want that free trip w/RT, so here goes.

When fishing alvins for fall chinook, you need every advantage you can get to attract them down deep.

To appeal to all of their senses try this:

Sight---The lure already does this. Experiment with colors.

Smell, taste---Use a little piece of fuzzy-side velcro and stick on the underside of your alvin, this will not subdue the visual effect of the lure. Add a killer scent.

Sound,Lateral line stimuli--- Now this is the real key. This is soooo top secret, but take it from a bass guy--Buy a pack of excalibur glass rattles (the biggest ones they make) in the bass section of your local tackle shop (fishermans marine). Either use 5-min epoxy or lure tape and affix the rattle on the top of the lure just behind the bend in the alvin. Every time the lure wobbles it will make a clicking sound. Glass and steel give of crisp clicks, don't use plastic rattles, they sound duller.

Now you have the ultimate deep water bait, that applies to all but one of the fishes senses....Feel...But don't worry, you're needle sharp treble will take care of that.
