Maple Glazed Cedar Planked Salmon

2-3 lb. Salmon or Steelhead filet

1 cup pure maple syrup

2 Tablespoons grated ginger

4 Tablespoons lemon juice

3 Tablespoons soy sauce

1 ½ Teaspoons minced garlic

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly oil cedar plank and heat in the middle of the oven for 15 minutes.

Simmer maple syrup, ginger, lemon juice, soy sauce, garlic, and salt/pepper to taste. Cook until mixture is reduced to about 1 cup or for 20 minutes, then let cool.

Place salmon filet, skin side down and brush liberally with glaze. Season salmon with salt/pepper and roast in middle of the oven until just cooked through or about 20-30 minutes. Can also place on the BBQ and cook that way.
