First off, hobiecat, small fish don't always breed small fish. If you want to go that route, how can midgets have full sized kids? Nature is nature.

Onto netting. Though it burns my chaps on more then one occasion plunking the puyallup the last 25+ years, it's their right. But I will add, there are alot FEWER netters in the river. And just because they're in doesn't mean you can't fish. They can't foul your lines. Most will work around you. In years past people still get fish (and big ones to boot) even while nets are in. Back in the day, when you'd have a good 50 boats netting, you were SOL getting anything.

If you want to blame anyone on what's going on, in long run it's the people who made the deals years ago. Someone negotiated this deal in first place. I don't agree with it, but it was a deal. Now, would I like to see some changes? HELL YES! Only time will tell. I do believe at this rate alot of the Indians (most I've went to school with or know growing up near) will be working at Bingo halls and casino's. Much better money to be made there then fishing. Hope the trend continues. I know for a fact there is not anywhere near the nets in river of years past.
