I've had a few deep fried turkeys and they were excellent -but!- not as good as the way I usually cook em. Usually throw em on the weber w/lottsa woodchips, gravy turns out most excellent (use the drippings from the drip pan strategically placed under the bird)w/shallots and madeira wine. Too labor intensive tho (plus it takes way too long) so now I jus let the ol lady cook it in the oven while I "wake up" ma taste buds w/a few cold ones an sum football. Can't recommend the barbecue method enough. Tried the smoker one year but like the results from the weber better. IMHO the deep fried is just a fad but tasty none the less.

Happy turkey day to all

Sincerely,
Roger
