Colvos passage actually is a well hit area. Great with downriggers. BUT, when the salmon are in the commercials will hit that stretch. I know alot of the commercial guys out in Gig Harbor (since I deliver to alot of the marina's and docks) and it's a favorite stretch. I've also fished some private beaches along it near the Pierce/Kitsap county lines and have done QUITE well. Just, that current can REALLY rip through there. But, you have many levels of current. What you have on top isn't what you'll have all the way to the bottom. I do know ALOT of guys troll through there, and have seen many nets come out landing fish while I sit on lunch break or watch as I deliver to beachfront houses out there. Not sure what I'm gonna do now, once I get back to work, I officially have an intown Gig Harbor route. No more fishing on my lunch breaks. DANG!!!!!!!!
