4-Salt
I am all stoked up and ready to go. wink

OK here is yet another float question or scenario

I got schooled one time on the Snoqualmie by a guy that from everything I have read did everything wrong. I was fishing a hole with big 4 foot round boulders for a few hours before he ever arrived. I would cast upstream and let my jig float down with the current, sometimes directing the float behind the big rocks where it was almost a given the fish would be holding. The water was up and dirty so the rocks could not be seen but I knew they were there.

This guy comes up and starts fishing right next to me because he also knew the slot. We both had our leaders set the same depth and were both fishing just a plain white jig. He however would cast slightly upstream and then instead of letting the jig float down stream naturally he would start to reel. Basically he would reel his float and jig straight back across the river. The float barely made any headway down stream. After an hour of fishing together I still had zero hookups and he had three.

What’s up with that? Does not seem like a very natural presentation to me but hey he caught the fish and I got skunked. I still have not figured that one out….
