Being in the water quality field I do a little DO tasting on the canal from time to time. Mind you it's on my own as I keep a boat down there. What I have found that the canal from Pleasant harbor up, places like Dabob bay are doing just fine even at 100 foot levels and near the bottom. I realize the lower canal has some big problems that need to be delt with but why the state does not make a boundry with the part that is well flushed and that that is not in trouble open for bottom fishing. It would be so easy to do just as they do for salmon seasons. Closing the whole thing is a bit lazy to me.
